BETHAL – A fire was reported earlier today, 14 September on a farm outside Bethal. Farmers who came to help, found the stomachs of three cows among the burnt land.

Upon further investigating another cow was found, still alive and severely burnt.

Due to the extent of her injuries she was put down.

The markings on the cow led the investigating team to the owner who was notified.

“How much longer is this going to go on? How much longer are we going to have our farmers and their livestock brutally killed before these people are caught? ” said Mr Hennie Bekker, vice chairman of Bethal Rural Safety.
