Non-profit organisation needs help to send addicts in Standerton for treatment

This can be attributed to an apathy towards addicts.

The plight of the homeless in Standerton has not fallen on deaf ears.

The Standerton Advertiser reported twice on the issue, a businessman’s charitable effort and Kuyenzeka Kunkulunkulu’s involvement thereafter to discuss the way forward.

This organisation, translated as ‘it is possible through God’, reached out to them on Saturday, 12 September by serving bread and soup at the back of the businessman’s premises

According to Mr Muzi Nzimande, coordinator, they are having an uphill battle to get assistance from the community.

This can be attributed to an apathy towards addicts.

Representatives of the Replica Church however, were in attendance at a weekly soup kitchen meeting on Saturday, to decide on the church’s future role in this initiative.

One of them, Ms Dina Hohls, led the singing and gave a short message, duly translated by Past Andrew Matsi.

Kuyenzeka Kunkulunkuluhe envisages to send addicts to a rehabilitation centre, KwaSizabantu Mission, a farm 60km out of Stanger in KwaZulu-Natal.

It is a non-denominational church that reaches out to people of all racial and cultural groups. Any enquiries can be directed to Mr Nzimande at 060 700 6446.
