EVANDER – Mr Siyabonga Mbatha who is suspected of murdering actress Thandeka Mdeliswa, was denied bail.
The 27-year-old was arrested in Thembisa, Gauteng, after the police launched manhunt.
The police initially arrested three suspects, but two were released due to insufficient evidence.
Thandeka who played the role of Khanya Hlophe in the television soapie Ikani, was shot during an argument at her home in Evander on Thursday, 3 September.

She died two days later in a Pretoria hospital.
According to the police, Thandeka heard a squabble between her brother and two men.
She then went out to investigate the problem whereupon getting closer, one of the men snatched a firearm from his friend and shot her. The two men fled the scene.
The matter was postponed to Tuesday, 20 October.
