Fun walk promotes fitness and GBVF awareness in eMzinoni

Senior citizens joined eMzinoni SAPS for a fun walk aimed at promoting fitness, a healthy lifestyle and awareness of gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).

Residents aged between 60 and 78 took part in a fun walk organised by eMzinoni SAPS as part of efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle and raise awareness about gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF).

The walk started in Extension 4 and focused on encouraging the elderly to remain active through regular exercise and fitness activities.

Fitness instructor Solly Raphiri lead the group in various exercises, including aerobics and ukuzivoxavoxa, helping participants stay physically active, fit and healthy.

eMzinoni SAPS Sergeant Cynthia Mtshweni also encouraged the participants to keep themselves active and involved in positive activities.

She highlighted the importance of sports and exercise in keeping people occupied and away from criminal activities, GBVF and domestic violence-related incidents.

The event aimed to show that staying active and participating in community activities can contribute to both physical wellbeing and a safer community.
