Nearly 4 000 lives are affected nationally if the blood service does not receive enough blood.

SECUNDA – The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) urgently needs blood.

Ms Dot Prinsloo, donor relations practitioner at the blood service in Secunda, urged the community to support the blood service and donate blood.

Nearly 4 000 lives are affected nationally if the blood service does not receive enough blood.

Ms Prinsloo said: “We need the selfless act of blood donation from donors in order to save lives. Right now many lives are at risk all over the country because we cannot meet the demand. Please donate blood and save a life today.”

To donate blood, visit the Secunda branch in Horwood Street or contact them at 017 631 1652 or visit the Bethal branch at the Cosmos Centre in Du Plooy Street or contact them at 017 647 5598.

The Secunda branch is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and on Saturday from 8am to 2pm.
