Kuyenzeka Kunkulunkulu arranges service for homeless in Standerton

The national anthem was sung before traditional food was handed out.

Kuyenzeka Kunkulunkulu, a non-profit organisation, arranged a service for the homeless in Standerton on Thursday, 24 September.

The NPO operates from a local businessman’s premises and a total of 53 destitute people were in attendance.

Various churches from Sakhile were invited and representatives arrived in traditional attire. Past Majola Mashinini delivered a message from the Bible, followed by motivational speakers, addressing the gathering.

Ms Martha Hlope, Ms Pauline Hendricks, Ms Christine Sibisi and Bishop Themba Nkonde were among those present, encouraging attendees with African hymns.

A cherry on the cake was the birthday cake, handed out to attendees to celebrate all September birthdays.

A vegetable donation from a local shop was such that some were left over which will be useful for the regular soup and bread hand-outs.
