SECUNDA – A video has emerged on social media of vehicle remote jamming at a shopping centre in Ext 22, on Thursday, 8 October.
The incident happened at about 3.30pm.
In the video three men are seen involved in the vehicle jamming and theft out of the motor vehicle. Mr Gawie Steyn, owner of the vehicle, did not see anything out of the ordinary or any suspicious activity when he pulled into the parking bay and left his vehicle to go into a shop.
“I only found out my belongings were stolen when I got home,” said Mr Steyn.
The robbers made off with a laptop and earphones that were inside Mr Steyn’s gym bag.
“Just be vigilant,” said Mr Steyn.
Motorists are warned not to leave valuables such as laptops, cameras and phones in their vehicles and to make sure they have double-checked that their vehicles have been locked and all windows are properly closed before leaving it unattended.
