Motorist loses control of vehicle between Piet Retief and Ermelo

“The vehicle consequently ended up in a ditch next to the road.”

A driver lost control of his vehicle about 22km outside Ermelo on the Piet Retief Road on 21 October.

According to Mr Christo Botha, paramedic of Ermelo Provincial Ambulance Services, the accident took place before 1am.

They were on their way to Nongoma in KZN.

Mr Botha said the motorist apparently lost control over the vehicle after driving through a puddle of water on the Vaal River Bridge.

“The vehicle consequently ended up in a ditch next to the road.”

He added, all three occupants suffered minor injuries and were transported to Ermelo Provincial Hospital.

Ermelo Provincial Ambulance Services, ER 24, All City Towing and Van Wettens Towing Services were on the scene.
