Ermelo residents experience unplanned power outages – here’s why

Mr Zwane said the current outages are unplanned and not related to the scheduled maintenance. 

ERMELO – Residents have been experiencing power outages due to the 11kV substation tripping on July 16.

This is because overloading according to the Msukaligwa Municipality.

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, the team is currently doing fault finding, thus being the reason for the frequent interruptions. 

“We will provide an update as soon as possible,” he said. 

The municipality also posted a notice of a planned power interruption that will take place on July 23. 

Mr Zwane said the current outages are unplanned and not related to the scheduled maintenance.
