Construction of Wessel Street in Ermelo expected to be completed in due course

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman for Msukaligwa Local Municipality, the project began late last year however, the physical onsite work began in March 2021.

ERMELO – The upgrading of the road and storm water drainage system of Wessel Street is expected to be completed by the end of August.

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman for Msukaligwa Local Municipality, the project began late last year however, the physical onsite work began in March 2021.

“The municipality appointed Tirisano Consulting Engineers who in return appointed a contractor,” he said.

“The project is funded by the municipality.”

The construction phases consist of:

• Site preparation

• Subgrade

• Stabilisation

• Base

• Kerbing and channeling

• Prime and asphalt surfacing

• Permanent traffic sign installation

• Storm water drainage

Mr Zwane concluded that contracters are currently busy with the prime and asphalt surfacing phase.
