Sinkhole in Florapark, Standerton dangerous
Mr Cousins pointed out the hazardous situation and said children can fall into the hole.
A burst pipe of a main waterline in Geelhout Crescent, Florapark had one resident worried sick after a sinkhole formed.
According to Mr Keith Cousins, he reported it to the Lekwa Municipality and Fire Brigade on Thursday, January 13 and even posted the information on Facebook.
Water is running underground.
The Standerton Advertiser was present when three municipal workers arrived on Tuesday, January 18 at about 9:00.
According to the workers, a TLB was on its way to Florapark.
Mr Cousins pointed out the hazardous situation and said children can fall into the hole.
The road has no street lights and according to him, many children walk along the path in the evening.
“Motorists are also apt to make a u-turn there,” he added.
The hole measured one metre in depth.
According to the resident, the TLB arrived at 11:00.
