Standerton 1 wins cricket match against Ermelo 1

Standerton CC1 clinched the cricket match at the Piet van den Berg-oval against Ermelo 1 Warriors on Saturday, February 12.

Ermelo opted to bat first with Berno van Niekerk scoring 21 runs of 23 deliveries, Marius Kruger 17 runs of 23 deliveries and Shaun Roodt 13 runs of 16 deliveries.

Standerton’s bowlers Henré Naudé took three wickets, conceding 15 runs, Dayne Young three wickets, conceding 38 runs and Jan-Dirk van Dyk two wickets, conceding 15 runs.

Once in front of the wicket, Naudé scored 50 runs of 39 balls, Craig Young 40 runs of 20 balls and Dayne Young 14 runs of 13 balls.

Their opponents’ bowling attack resulted in Riaan Jansen taking two wickets, conceding 25 runs and Thami Makwakwa one wicket, conceding 18 runs.
