Lekwa Municipality has embarked on a programme, ‘siyaqhuba’ to clean the different wards in Standerton.
‘Siyaqhuba’ translates to ‘forward we go’.
Workers were busy in Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 14.
Services included cleaning of storm water drains, picking up of litter, clearing of illegal dumping sites, temporary closing of illegal dumping sites.
The programme is in support of IDP consultation meetings.
