Stolen goods worth a million recovered in Welbekend
Amongst the stolen goods, was a truck trailer, new furniture, steel reinforcing bars, boxes loaded with valuable items and electrical appliances.
The Welbekend Police recovered stolen goods to the value of R1 million and arrested a 40-year-old suspect.
According to the Welbekend Police, information was received from some of the companies from which goods were stolen.
The owners apparently tracked their delivery truck’s movement.
This led them to a suspicious looking building on a smallholding in the Welbekend area.
The police then conducted a search on Saturday, May 7 and made a valuable discovery.
Among the stolen goods, are a truck trailer, new furniture, steel reinforcing bars, boxes loaded with valuable items and electrical appliances.
The police also arrested a suspect in connection with the stolen goods.
The suspect was identified as the owner of the smallholding in Welbekend.
According to a media statement released by the office of the Welbekend Police, the suspect will soon appear in the Welbekend Magistrate’s Court facing the charge of the possession of suspected stolen property.
