The DA-councillor for Ward 8, Alberto Franco, shared information about some municipal dates that need to be remembered.
Six committee members from the respective wards in Lekwa were invited to attend a meeting in Mkhondo (Piet Retief) on May 20.
“Inductions for committee members will be held at the Standerton Show Grounds from May 25 to May 27,” Franco said.
Franco also said the IDP-meetings in the municipality are ongoing.
He confirmed that refuse removal in Standerton is back to normal since four trucks are collecting rubbish.
A new truck, funded from the MIG-grant, will be bought.
Municipal accounts with estimated readings of water meters were discussed as well.
“Residents should bring, as soon as possible, all relevant accounts, proof of payments and photos of the meters to the municipal offices.
“Estimates are way beyond the readings and it takes a few months to be corrected.”
