Volunteers and members of the Trichardt Community Policing Forum (CPF) took hands with Trichardt Police and launched a clean-up campaign on August 20.
They cleaned the area between Barney Molokwane Street and Richter Street.
Clark van der Walt, chairman of Trichardt CPF, said they managed to dispose of two truckloads full of rubbish as well as two bakkie loads of empty beer bottles.
He thanked Kosie van der Merwe who sponsored a TLB for the day and said that helped them to clean the area thoroughly and make it look neat again.
Trichardt CPF now erected sign boards at certain points in Trichardt to inform people that illegal dumping is not allowed.
“The community must please help us to ensure that no illegal dumping of rubbish is taking place here,” said Van der Walt.
“If you see somebody dumping rubbish, you can report it to us or the police.”
