Regional Court in Standerton hands down hefty sentence
The accused fled the scene, but handed themselves over to Standerton Police and Standerton Correctional Services a few days later.
Sifiso Welcome Mphuthi (34) was recently sentenced in the Standerton Regional Court to 17 years imprisonment.
Mphuthi is popularly known as #SOMNYAMA.
It follows an incident in Thokoza, Sakhile on April 19, 2018 when Mphuthi and his co-accused, Mpho Mokeana, now deceased, stabbed and robbed Rooi Dlamini, now deceased.
The deceased sustained seven stab wounds to his neck and upper part of his back.
The accused fled the scene, but handed themselves over to Standerton Police and Standerton Correctional Services a few days later.
Reports indicated that they were fearing for their lives.
Police are also investigating pending robbery cases against Mphuthi.
