Eldamah Academy in Delmas celebrates Heritage Day

The learners, staff and visiting parents tasted different traditional foods from Morocco, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The Eldamah Academy in Delmas specially celebrated Heritage Day.

During the celebrations on Friday, September 23, most of the learners and teachers were dressed in cultural clothes, while others wore jeans with some ornamental jewellery.

Video clips taught the learners, staff and some visiting parents about various cultures.

“The learners were reminded about their true inheritance, namely the Kingdom of God for all who believe,” said the principal, Wilna Joubert.

Everyone then had the chance to sample different traditional foods from Morocco, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Eldamah also had a spring carnival on the day where the learners bought treats to their hearts’ content. They also participated in games, face painting and a tombola.
