Diamond Chamber of Commerce hold golf day to raise money

The winners of the day were the four-ball of Martin Koekemoer, Deon Smidt, BW Oosthuizen and Dreyer van der Berg.

The Diamond Chamber of Commerce (DCC) hosted a golf day at the Cullinan Golf Club on September 30.

The DCC is a voluntary organisation of businesses and professionals with their main aim to uplift the economic state and well-being of the community.

The golf day was held to raise money for the DCC’s general functioning, which includes everything from printing costs, office rental and salaries to name but a few.

Altogether 40 golf players attended the golf day. The winners of the day were the four-ball of Martin Koekemoer, Deon Smidt, BW Oosthuizen and Dreyer van der Berg.

Alex Tlou, Thabo Mabena, Agnes Taukobong and Oupa Motau achieved second place. This was the team of Oscar Meyer, Shaun Helfrich, Nella Calitz and Willie Strydom.

Anton Bezuidenhout, Driston Bezuidenhout, Werner Schoombee and Christo van Aswegen ended fourth and the team of Pieter Westcott, Tian Boshoff, Jannie Smith and Werner Fouche were fifth.

Out of the nine holes, six were sponsored by Just Ginger, Eendracht Pub & Grill Brandewyn, TTC Engineering & Hydraulics, Brand Hub Solutions, BMG and QuickTrade.

The DCC also thanked all the other sponsors.

After all the excitement on the golf course, participants and sponsors were invited to the Cullinan Diamond Lodge where they were honoured with a prize-giving, auction and delicious Mauritian cuisine which included a vegan curry, sweet and sour ginger fish and a turmeric coconut milk chicken
casserole.

All in all, it was a hole-in-one for all round.
