With the cricket season underway, Sasol 1 Secunda played against Bethal Bears at the Sasol Cricket Club on Saturday, October 15.
Bethal won the toss and elected to bat first. Bethal managed to score 120/6 in their 20 overs. Captain George Louw took two wickets for 15 runs in four overs and Ruan Jacobs took two wickets for 19 in his four overs.
Sasol managed to reach the target in the 12th over and won the match with nine wickets. Louw shined with the bat scoring an unbeaten 74 off 41 balls.
The second match, unfortunately, ended in a no result due to rain. Sasol 2 Bulldogs fell short in both their matches against Standerton 1.
Sasol 1 now leads the Premier League table with 27 points followed by eMba with 15 points. Sasol 4 travelled to Piet Retief to take on Piet Retief 1 on Sunday, October 16.

They received mixed results, winning the first match and losing the second. Standout players were Ellwyn Thomas who scored 67 in the first match and Werner Müller who scored 84 in the second.
Elukwatini forfeited both their matches against Sasol 3 Kinross. Sasol 3 and Sasol 4 began their T20 Season against Bethal Bear on Sunday, October 16.
Sasol’s women’s team began their T20 season by taking on Bethal Bears on Sunday, October 16. Sasol women’s captain, Terry-Lee Kleynhans, won the first toss and put the Bears in to bat.
They managed to put up 71 runs before being bowled out, with the pick of the bowlers being Terry-Lee Kleynhans getting four wickets for nine runs and Kyra van der Merwe getting three wickets for 19 runs.
Sasol went in to bat and managed to get the total in 14 overs giving them the win. Kleynhans again won the toss for the second game but this time opted to bat first.

Lalique Broxham (18) took charge of the innings, scoring a 64 off 48 balls not out with Mariska Scholtz playing a supportive role making 27 off 28 balls.
Sasol women put up a total of 167-5 after their 20 overs.
Bethal Bears came in all guns blazing with strong innings by Anelle van Deventer scoring a quick 56 off 34 balls.
Sasol Women managed to restrict the Bears to 124-6 in their 20 overs, giving Sasol the second win for the season.
The women will be playing their next game on Sunday, October 30, where they will be facing the Mkondo Eagles at Sasol Club Secunda.
