Come rain, hail or shine, 44 participants at parkrun in Standerton

Emmanuel Motaung, a first-timer, crossed the finish line in a time of 19:11, followed by Sifiso Siphamandla in 20:22.

Altogether 44 participants lined up for the parkrun on Saturday, February 11 notwithstanding the downpour of the previous evening.

Six athletes improved their times and four new faces were seen at the Standerton River Park.

Emmanuel Motaung, a first-timer, crossed the finish line in a time of 19:11, followed by Sifiso Siphamandla in 20:22.

Mthokozisi Tshwala completed the 5km in 20:54, while Mohammed Mussa improved his personal best with a time of 21:03.

Juma Kadar clocked in at 28:08, followed by Reneilwe Tsotetsi in 28:30.

Jané van Niekerk achieved a new personal best of 28:41, while Wassie Rossouw registered a time of 30:44.

Johann Vosloo competed in his 50th parkrun in a time of 32:07, followed by Patricia Mudau, also in her 50th in 38:38.

Lesedi Nkeri, a new face reached the finish line in 39:23.

Charl van Wyk, Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Resnburg, Marius Kilian, Petra Fischer, Preyanka Dorasamy, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg,

Theo Schönfeldt and Willy Smith volunteered to ensure a smooth and safe event.
