SECUNDA – In celebration of Autism Awareness Day in April, the community created awareness of autism on Saturday, April 1 by doing a fun walk around the duck pond.
A local occupational therapist, Retha Gous, organised the walk and she also has a support group for parents who have children with autism.
The support group gets together the first Saturday of each month.
Young and old took part in the fun walk and a local coffee shop sponsored vouchers and the person who wore the most blue clothes won a prize.
For more information about the support groups, contact Gous at 084 952 2345.
