Faith and her puppies find hope at Wet Nose
Dog was critically ill, weak, emaciated, barely clinging to life when she was rescued in Onverwacht.
Faith and her puppies were rescued on December 14 in a heart-wrenching rescue mission in the area of Onverwacht.
A compassionate local alerted the team from Wet Nose to a dire situation where a mommy Africanis, whom they named Faith, was found unresponsive in a box, with her seven puppies discarded in a dustbin.
Faith was critically ill, weak, emaciated, barely clinging to life and it was a race against time. The team immediately transported Faith and her puppies to the clinic for urgent care.
Declan Rodocanachi said, “Faith’s condition was critical. Numerous tests have been conducted, yet her exact ailment remains elusive – no biliary, distemper, parvo, or ehrlichiosis.
“X-rays showed no broken bones, but she suffers from dehydration, malnutrition, a severe tick and flea infestation, and possible head trauma. Thankfully, her puppies are all in good health,” said Rodocanachi.
Faith’s journey to recovery was just beginning, and it’s a path full of challenges. Her care demands extensive resources, constant medical attention, and a lot of love.
“Faith is showing remarkable signs of recovery, after a gruelling start and an uncertain future. She can now walk a little a bit after receiving help to get up, and has begun to eat a little more. It’s heart-warming to see her strength and resilience shine through,” said Rodocanachi.
This progress could not have been possible without the incredible support of the locals. Their donations played a critical role in providing Faith with the medical care, nourishment, and love she desperately needed.
“As we continue to care for Faith and her little ones, we remain hopeful and inspired by her improvements,” said Rodocanachi.
