Parkrunners in Standerton compete for their best times

Sylvy Moodley was honoured for completing 100 parkruns and Estelle Els for 25.

Ninety-two people joined the parkrun on March 16, where five athletes improved their times and participants saw 10 new faces.

Standerton River Park hosts this free event that offers runners, joggers and walkers the chance to compete against themselves.

Bongane Mpokane crossed the finish line in 18:35, followed by Thapelo Mahlangu, who registered 19:54.

Patrick Tsotetsi completed the distance in 21:10, Themba Mbatha in 22:45, Timothy Hoop in 24:03 and Janko van der Linden in 26:16.

Johan Ferreira competed in his 50th event and recorded 26:33, Parth Jayram came in at 26:42, and Pieter Grobbelaar at 27:58.

Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Hennie Viljoen, Jakobus van der Linden, Jennifer Naidoo, Johanna van Tonder, Johannes Vosloo, Karen van der Linden, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sophia Grobbelaar, Strini Naidoo and Zeldine Strydom volunteered to ensure a safe and smooth event.
