Seven set new best times at Standerton parkrun

Seven people improved their personal best time at the 240th Standerton parkrun on April 6. William Abrahams set a new time of 26:33, Thyler Welgemoed improved to 29:20, Jose Joseph’s new time was 30:35, Willem Johannes Byleveldt set a time of 34:28, Fanyana Malinga improved to 43:39.
Jade Robyn Corondimas reached 54:14 and Hermina Johanna van der Sandt finished in 57:30.
Of the 59 participants, youngsters Thapelo Mahlangu, Sinkho Mzizi and Sinethemva Mazibuko made a race out of the 5km route.
Mahlangu finished first in a time of 19:20, followed by Mzizi in 19:33 and Mazibuko in 19:39.
They were followed by four unknown runners.

The next several participants were Timothy Hoop (23:14), William Abrahams, Wassie Rossouw (26:42).
Ayanda Dlamini (27:04). Pieter Grobbelaar (27:35), Daleney Grobbelaar (27:59) and Thyler Welgemoed (29:20).
The volunteers of this week’s parkrun were Renette de Sousa, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Cathrine le Roux, Gerhardus le Roux, Lia Niemand, Lydia Roets, Zeldine Strydom, Marjorie Uys, Elmien Vermaak and Johannes Vosloo.
The parkrun was also business as usual over the Easter weekend when 79 participants entered the parkrun on March 30.
Eight athletes improved their times and five first-timers joined the exercise. Kaywen Human crossed the finish line in 20:47, followed by Kutloano Tsotetsi who recorded 21:12.

Welcome Ndlangisa completed the distance in 24:00, Janko van der Linden in 25:27, Ruan Boshoff in 25:29, Pieter Grobbelaar in 28:25 and Delaney Grobbelaar in 28:27 in her 50th event.
Brendan Archer registered 30:16, Andrew Ainsworth 30:30 in his 50th event, Kaylene Human 31:00, a new personal best and Thikolelwi Mudau 31:18.
Charl van Wyk, Jakobus van der Linden, Karen van der Linen, Leandri van Wyk, Lia Niemand, Lizette Jansen van Rensbrg, Lydia Roets, Marius Kilian, Nitin Daya, Richard van der Linden, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Zeldine Strydom took up positions to ensure a safe and smooth parkrun.
The Standerton parkrun begins at 08:00 every Saturday at Standerton River Park. It is a free event and anyone is welcome.
