Attempted hijacking on R25 near AquaVista
Unknown suspects, who fired shots at the two cars using large calibre rifles, ambushed the two vehicles.

Two men sustained injuries in an attempted hijacking on July 1 on the R25 at AquaVista outside Bronkhorstspruit.
At approximately 18:00, two vehicles – a red Chevrolet Camaro and a white Toyota Fortuner – arrived at the AquaVista main gate. The Fortuner closely followed the Camaro.
Unknown suspects, who fired shots at the two cars using large calibre rifles, ambushed the two vehicles.
In an attempt to escape, both vehicles rushed towards AquaVista Estate.
The guards on duty at AquaVista immediately informed Jaco Ehlers, senior security manager at Fidelity Security Services.
He then rushed to the scene with members of the security service.
Neal le Roux, area manager, said, “We informed our control room to dispatch the SAPS and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). A resident of AquaVista, who is a doctor, assisted in stabilising the patients.
“The incident was an attempted hijacking of the driver of the red Camaro. The driver of the white Fortuner was caught in the crossfire, being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“The driver in the Camaro was shot in the upper leg, near his main artery, while the driver of the Fortuner sustained a gunshot in the lower leg. Both patients were transported to the hospital,” said Le Roux.
