The Onverwacht Netball Club hosted a sports and recreation day on July 27 at the sports field in Onverwacht.
The day saw soccer and netball matches for U15 and U19 teams.
The winning netball team was from Rethabiseng, followed by Leeufontein, Bronkhorstspruit and Onverwacht in fourth position.
David Mahlangu, the Tshwane Region Seven netball co-ordinator, said: “I am so happy for all the regions that participated in this event and, indeed, Tshwane is the home of champions.
“I saw a lot of talent in these youngsters. They are the stars of tomorrow. I believe netball is a passion for all the netballers. I thank the City of Tshwane, the Gauteng Department of Sports, Art, and Culture and Recreation North
Corridor for the opportunity given to our players.
“I also thank the parents and coaches for allowing their kids to participate because such events are where talent is identified and developed,” said Mahlangu.
