Secunda Regional Court postpones alleged serial killer’s trial

Themba Shongwe will be back in the dock on August 20.

The Secunda Regional Court postponed the trial of alleged serial killer Themba Shongwe to August 20.

Magistrate Graham Cupido postponed the trial on July 23 due to a water crisis across the Govan Mbeki Municipality. Shongwe is on trial for the murder and rape of young girls from eMbalenhle.

The murdered girls are Cynthia Masilela, Mihle Zingamo (14) and cousins Nokulunga (13) and Lerato Nkutha (11).

Shongwe is disputing the DNA results from the police’s science lab in Pretoria.
