Standerton Police educate and search
Only one learner was found being in possession of dagga.
The SAPS recently visited Thuto-Thebe Secondary School to conduct a school search and ensure drug free education as part of their safer schools programme.
The operation was lead by station commander Colonel JK Afrika, Captain Braam Robberts, sector commanders, domestic violence officials, tourism members and CPF members.
According to school principal Mr Maboea, the school experiences drug problems regularly, due to children bringing drugs to school.
Bullying is also a regular problem. Almost 1 000 learners were searched, as well as 16 classrooms.
One learner was found in possession of marijuana.
The school rules prohibits cellphones on the premises, however, 14 phones were confiscated and handed to the principal to incite disciplinary action.
The SAPS discouraged the learners from drug abuse.
