Graceland in Secunda hands over gear to Dominators Den Siya ‘The Chef’
Graceland’s general manager Charlene Ludick handed over training gear to Dominators Den Siya ‘The Chef’ Nomvemve on September 30.
Dominators Den MMA fighter Siya ‘The Chef’ Nomvemve (32) received training gear sponsored by Graceland, Hotel, Casino and Country Club.
Graceland’s general manager, Charlene Ludick, handed over the gear to Nomvemve on September 30.
Nomvemve is training to fight for the number one contender spot to face the middleweight champion Luke ‘Young Gun’ Michael at EFC worldwide in Sandton on November 14.
His interest and love for the sport began when he was an employee at Graceland. He would walk past the Dominators Den Boxing Academy at Graceland.

He joined the Den and now two years later Nomvemve is aiming to compete on the same international level as South Africa’s Dricus du Plessis, who is the current UFC middleweight champion.
When handing over the gear, Ludick said Nomvemve is an example to the youth – that if you have a passion for something, you can take it far if you put in the hard work, time and dedication.
“I know you will do well because of your dedication to the sport. We need a lot more role models like you,” said Ludick.
She said Graceland supports its community and helps develop sports wherever it can.
“As a young man, Siya worked for Graceland and is passionate about this sport. His dedication has brought him to where he is today, and we are delighted to lend him a helping hand,” said Ludick.
Nomvemve thanked Graceland for the gear and said he now feels like a ‘complete’ fighter.
“It has been hard to see the other guys geared up in the gym and preparing for a fight. My team would help where they can, but now I can train without sitting down and wait for gear,” said Nomvemve.
The gear will help protect him from injuries when training.
“This sport has taught me to be humble and appreciate what I have. I thank the Lord God and Savior, family, coach Cedric Doyle, friends, teammates and colleagues for all the support,” said Nomvemve.
