Parkruns in Bapsfontein, Delmas and Bronkies see good turnouts

The three parkruns in our readership area attracted 117 people collectively to be active on a Saturday.
Some 54 people ran in Bronkhorspruit’s 208th parkrun, seven of whom were first-timers. Len Marx and his dog, Rossi, completed their 50th parkrun on October 19, finishing in 34:56.
Wynand Kotze was the first parkrunner home. He finished the 5km route in 20:27, followed by Christiaan Steyl (26:52), Regardt Swanepoel (29:07), Timothy Kumanga (30:29), Leonie van den Berg (30:50) and a visitor from Rand Athletic Club, James Meakings (31:48).
Prince Dumisani Khumalo finished in 32:10, and Livasan Govender’s time was 33:44. The volunteers who made the Bronkhorstspruit event possible were André and Lelani de Lange, Moonilal Dunmun, Gonasagree Govender,
Amisha and Bhavna Rampersadh, Despina and Filia Rockas, Casper Strydom and Adri van Wyk. The Bapsfontein Hotel parkrun hosted its 140th event, and three participants improved their personal best times.
Yolande Bodenstein from team Runna set her new best time as 40:51. Bruna dos Santos’ new best time is 51:33, a time she shares with Thea Corbett.
At the same event, Douw Wolmarans finished first in 21:55, followed by Johan Daniel Kamffer (23:47), Alex Elsworth (24:13), Bradley Brand (24:33), Malcolm Wade (25:07), Scott Stevenson from the Striders AC (26:41), Adri Kamffer (27:39), Clive Whitlow (27:44), Christiaan Schellingerhout from theIrene Road RC (29:19) and Morne van den Berg (31:47).
The volunteers who made this event happen were Lisa de Kock, Peorina Dell, Alex Elsworth, Mick Grewar, Aubrey Hauptfleisch, Gordon Lindsay, Morne van den Berg, Malcolm Wade, Douw, Ester and Wynand Wolmarans.
The Red Star parkrun in Delmas hosted 28 participants, of whom four set new personal best times in the 153rd event.
They are Hannes Potgieter (31:23), Carien Kruger (46:17), Elize Diedericks (47:03) and Tinus Redelinghuys (47:26).
The super-fast Bongani Mtsweni was the first runner in. He completed the course in a speedy 19:51, more than seven minutes before the next runner, Matthew Brislin (27:35).
