Lekwa Municipality checks school’s ongoing projects

The committee inspected the facilities and spoke with the principal and teachers, ensuring the infrastructure improvements aligned with their goals of inclusivity and better access to education for special needs learners.

The Lekwa Local Municipality (LLM), in collaboration with the portfolio committee on Public Works, Roads and Transport and the Gert Sibande District Municipality did an oversight visit at George Hofmeyr School on October 22.

According to Lubabalo Majenge, the communications officer for the LMM, the visit was to assess the current state of ongoing projects at the school.

George Hofmeyr is a school that greatly enhances the learning environment of learners with special needs and learning disabilities.

The committee inspected the facilities and spoke with the principal and teachers, ensuring the infrastructure improvements aligned with their goals of inclusivity and better access to education for special needs learners.

“The collaboration between various levels of government underscores the importance of intergovernmental co-operation in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities,” concluded Majenge.

The results of the oversight were not made public at the time of going to print.
