Sector 4 CPF in Secunda gives safety tips
Sector chairperson urges residents to get involved and to help safeguard their areas.
The Secunda police and CPF members handed out flyers to shoppers and residents in Ext 22’s Sector 4 on November 2.
The flyers provide general safety tips to safeguard your home and vehicles. Sector policing is an approach where a police station service area is divided into smaller, manageable areas known as sectors.
Each sector has a police commander and community volunteers that ensure a safe surrounding.
They always need volunteers. The CPF calls on local businesses, councillors, residents and community leaders to participate in efforts to deal with factors to crime in your sector.

If you would like to volunteer as a CPF member, contact:
- Sector 1 chairperson Martin Booyzen on 072 601 3638
- Sector 2 chairperson André Fourie on 083 658 0613
- Sector 3 chairperson Drikus Booyse on 084 404 2245
- Sector 4 chairperson Aranda Nel-Buitendag on 082 795 8895.
Useful safety tips for your home:
• Keep your premises well lit.
• Keep doors and windows closed.
• Do not open gates and doors for unknown persons.
• Store away bicycles, lawnmowers, generators, or items easily to be stolen.

Useful safety tip for your vehicle:
• Do not park your vehicle on the pavement in front of your house.
• Keep your doors and windows locked.
• Do not leave valuable items inside your vehicle.
• Do not withdraw large amounts of money and hide it in your vehicle or stop afterwards to shop.
