Cullinan Secondary School rugby players excels
“Their long hours of training and determination paid off”.
Four Cullinan Secondary School rugby players represented Gauteng at the provincial OR Tambo Sonchini Cohesion Games from October 26 to 27.
The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation presented the games at the Kingsway Campus at the University of Johannesburg.
Elijah Miya, Ofentse Shawa, Tshegofatso Monama and Neo Mahlangu played in the sevens rugby U15 team.
According to coach Louise de Coning, the learners played seven games, losing one. The Gauteng team received gold medals during the tournament.

“I am extremely proud of our Cullinan Secondary School boys’. Their long hours of training and determination paid off,” said De Coning.
De Coning further told Streeknews that the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation and the Tshwane Metro sponsored the learners’ clothes.
Cullinan Secondary has a full-time representative at the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, Rozanne Dreyr, who also assists in training.
“Our school is also fortunate to be chosen by the Blue Bulls union as a school which will receive intensive attention to player development,” De Coning concluded.
