Correctional services are searching for inmate’s relatives

Sabethe Sylivor Baloyi died in the Volksrust Correctional Centre in November, but the DCS cannot find his next of kin.

The Department of Correctional Services needs help in finding the family of late Volksrust Correctional Centre inmate, Sabethe Sylivor Baloyi.

Baloyi was born on April 4, 1951, in KwaMdladla. He died on November 26, while serving a 12-year sentence.

Reportedly, the DCS has exhausted their available resources in search of Baloyi’s next of kin.

The information they were able to gather indicates that Baloyi was a builder operating in the Ermelo area at the time of his arrest.

According to a statement released by the DCS, he had rented a room in Ext 34 before his arrest and had a site in Mandela Location in KwaMdladla.

The DCS urges anyone with any information on Baloyi’s next of kin to report to DCS communications manager, Sipiwe Mahlangu on 067 381 3053 or email Sipiwe.Mahlangu@dcs.gov.za
