Lekwa’s mayor congratulates matrics of 2024
He announces the pass rate of each school.
Lekwa Municipality Mayor Sifiso Mngemezulu congratulated the matric Class of 2024 on their results.
His message follows:
“I congratulate the matric Class of 2024 in Lekwa Local Municipality following the announcement of the matric results by Minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube and Mpumalanga MEC for Education Cathy Dlamini, respectively.
“I am proud of the learners who did well in their matric exams despite the challenges they faced daily during the journey. Challenges shape and sharpen an individual to excel. I applaud the hard work and dedication of the teachers and all the learners. You have proven that hard work pays.”
Many Lekwa schools increased their pass rate compared to 2023, and only two schools dropped. The pass rate in Lekwa was 90%.
Lekwa schools’ performances:
- Azalea Combined School: 70%;
- Hoërskool Standerton: 97%;
- Holmdene Secondary School: 97.1%;
- Jandrell Secondary School: 95%;
- Khula Sakhile Secondary School: 88.5%;
- Khunjuliwe Secondary School: 83%;
- Thobelani Secondary School: 88%;
- Thuto-Thebe Secondary School: 97.7%;
- Stanwest Combined School: 87.9%;
- Zikhetheleni Secondary School: 87.5%;
- Morgenzon Landbou Akademie: 100%;
- Nqobangolwazi Secondary School: 85.3%.
“This shows something good is being done in all our schools. Their performance in the respective subjects also improved, producing quality results.
“I wish all those who did not pass strength and urge parents to support them and encourage them to sign up for the Matric Second Chance Programme,” said the mayor
