Thandeka receives donation from Lekwa and Gert Sibande
With the donation, Lubabalo Majenge, communications officer of the Lekwa Local Municipality, said they aimed to ease the challenges of learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The Gert Sibande District Municipality and Lekwa Local Municipality donated school uniforms and sanitary towels on March 14.
Busisiswe Sekhonde, council speaker and executive mayor, Sifiso Mngemezulu, donated school uniforms and sanitary towels to the learners of Thandeka Primary School.
With the donation, Lubabalo Majenge, communications officer of the Lekwa Local Municipality, said they aimed to ease the challenges of learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
“This donation brought joy to us and, most importantly, to the school’s learners,” said Mngemezulu.
The school governing body chairperson, Zakhele Nkosi, stated this was a significant donation for a school that needs consistent support.
Hloni Selepe, principal of Thandeka Primary, expressed deep gratitude for the donation.
“I thank the leadership for this donation. It will help our learners focus on their studies without worrying about school uniforms or essential hygiene products,” concluded Selepe.
