Father from Standerton expects justice for his son
Pedestrians Mario Iyapian and Zodwa Patricia Molebatsi were run over and killed on February 4, 2024.
The case of Clement Skhosana appears to be slowly drawing to a close, as sentencing is expected on May 21.
According to Rhinus Fourie, father of Mario Iyapian, he is eagerly awaiting justice for his son and Zodwa Patricia Molebatsi, who also tragically lost her life in this incident.
The pair were walking on Dr Walter Sisulu Drive in the early hours of February 4, 2024, when a vehicle hit both victims, causing them to die shortly after on the scene.
The next day, Skhosana appeared at the Standerton Police Station with a lawyer. The lengthy process has had an enormous toll on the families of the victims.
Fourie explained that the defence team of Skhosana attempted to offer a plea bargain of R 30 000, but Fourie refused the offer.
“All I want is justice for my son, who was 17 at the time of his death,” stated Fourie.
