Hospital in Trichardt awards Nelisiwe as best nurse
Nurses are recognised for hard work and dedication.
Mediclinic Highveld celebrated International Nurses Day on May 12 and gave recognition to their top nurses. This day is honoured yearly on the anniversary of the late Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
Mediclinic Highveld’s theme for this year’s Nurses Day focused on how nursing builds a better tomorrow for their patients, their families and the community.
The winner of the 2025 Daisy Award was Nelisiwe Radebe, an enrolled nursing auxiliary at the surgical unit.
“Each year we acknowledge the vital role our nurses play in our hospitals and the community,” said Sphiwe Mahlalela, patient experience manager.
“Quality nursing is rooted in empathy and caring for our patients and their families. At Mediclinic, we understand the need to provide for not only a patient’s clinical needs but also their emotional needs and general well-being.
“When patients are discharged from our care, we want the assurance that they have experienced a positive care journey, which can only be achieved through excellent nursing care.”
