Man appears in court for pregnant girlfriend’s murder in Kinross

Sifiso Khumalo appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court for the alleged murder of his pregnant life partner, Dibuseng Madela, whose body was found with multiple injuries in their Marikana home.

Sifiso Khumalo (34), appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court today (May 26) in connection with the murder of his life partner, Dibuseng Madela.

The 34-year-old Madela’s body was found in a pool of blood in the couple’s home in Ext 21 known as Marikana, on May 23.

According to the police, blood spatter was visible on the walls of the dwelling when the police arrived on the scene.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, the victim had sustained a stab wound to the chest and visible head injuries, believed to have been caused by bricks.

A clinic card found nearby confirmed that Madela was six months pregnant. Khumalo was apprehended at about 19:45 at the Kinross taxi rank.

He was allegedly heading to Johannesburg. Khumalo will apply for legal aid when he appears in court again on May 28.
