The forum is chaired by the district executive mayor, Walter Mngomezulu, who stated this forum would participate in a social labour plan to ensure it aligns with community needs.
Mngemozulu attended an oversight at the Standerton Water Treatment Plant on May 14 to monitor the recent upgrades.
During his visit, he focused on key points, such as water reticulation, abstraction points, running pumps and more.
“All five raw water pumps are currently operational and the clear water pumps are running as expected,” stated Mngemozulu.
The district mayor stated these were the first steps to achieving their broader goal, stabilising the system and ensuring consistent water supplies to Standerton.
According to Majenge, some areas have already started to feel the effects of the refurbishment, with water slowly returning.
