Women discuss critical community issues at caucus in Standerton

The Lekwa Local Municipality’s Multi-Women’s Caucus allowed women unite to address critical issues and empower their community.

The Lekwa Local Municipality (LLM) hosted a Multi-Women’s Caucus on May 27. Several women gathered in the Ext 6 community hall to discuss critical issues affecting them and the men in the community.

According to Lubabalo Majenge, the spokesperson for the LLM, the caucus focused on committee responsibilities, issues related to GBV, and working relations between men and women.

Representatives from several municipal departments attended, including the Lekwa Women’s Forum, Department of Social Development, Department of Health, SAPS, Moral Regeneration Movement, and others, along with Mapaseka Molaba, the MMC for Community Safety and Security.

“The event demonstrated the LLM’s commitment to addressing social issues that impact the community,” concluded Majenge.
