Two appear in Standerton Magistrate’s Court for murder and attempted murder
The case was postponed to June 18 for a formal bail application.
Fikile Zwane died from her injuries when she was assaulted by two women on June 6. Chico Hadebe was also assaulted and is fighting for his life in Witbank Hospital.
Hadebe was walking in Sakhile with his friend Zwane when the pair were cornered and allegedly assaulted by two women whom they knew well.
It is alleged that the group had recently attended a party together. They were accused of stealing R1 000. Zwane and Hadebe were escorted to a secluded home, where they were assaulted.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly used an electrical cord, shovel and knife to assault the two victims. When the suspects realised Zwane had lost consciousness, they took her to a nearby clinic, where she was pronounced dead.
Police reports indicate that Zwane had knife wounds on her back, bruises all over her body and a swollen head.
The accused, Queen Nhleko and Lungile Khumalo, appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on June 9, facing charges of murder and attempted murder. The case was postponed to June 18 for a formal bail application.
