Teks Shooting Club welcomes international shooters at historical event in Trichardt
The club earned praise for its top-class facilities and outstanding organisation, reinforcing its ability to host events of this calibre.
The Teks Shooting Club made history as it hosted the first National Shooting Competition in Mpumalanga in more than a decade.
From June 12 to 15, the prestigious event welcomed 385 shooters, including international competitors from Germany, Poland and Zimbabwe.
More than just a celebration of the nationals returning to the province, the competition also served as the final selection event for Team South Africa ahead of the Handgun World Shoot, which will be held in Stilfontein in September.
Competitors faced a series of demanding stages designed to test precision, speed and endurance.

“The competition showcased not only local talent but also highlighted the sport’s growing international appeal in South Africa,” said Jan Strydom, chairperson of the Teks Shooting Club.
The club earned praise for its top-class facilities and outstanding organisation, reinforcing its ability to host events of this calibre.
“The presence of international athletes further cemented the event’s status as a major milestone for the shooting community,” Strydom added.
Attention now turns to final team selections and preparations for the World Shoot.
“For South African shooters, this national event was more than a competition. It was the final step toward the world stage,” concluded Strydom.
