Tiny dancer from Rayton needs help to dance her way to Singapore

Jolandra van der Merwe (6) qualified for Get the Beat World Final.

Jolandra van der Merwe, a six-year-old dancer from Rayton, recently qualified to represent South Africa at the Get the Beat World Final.
The competition will take place in Singapore from 12 to 22 December.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I would love to make my dream come true,” said Jolandra.

“It will also be Jolandra’s first time flying, and she is super excited,” her mom, Salandra, added.

“But to get there, we need support with the costs for her travel, the competition, and accommodation.”

According to Salandra, they have organised many fundraisers and would appreciate the public’s participation and support.

“Any donation, big or small, will help Jolandra step onto that world stage with South African pride.”

“Together, we can make this little dreamer’s big dream come true,” Salandra concluded.

For more information about the competition, donations, or sponsorships, Salandra can be contacted on 082 563 0262.

My journey as journalist in the Delmas area for Streeknuus began in December 2018. Over the past six years I have learned a lot about my community, its people, schools and organisations. What a privilege to have been part of Delmas as kykNET’s town of the year award in 2023 and to follow each and every step of the journey.
