Cyclists can participate in a night ride in Secunda for a good cause

Those participating, are encouraged to wear blue.

The next social night ride for cyclists will take place at 18:00 on September 16 at Seeff’s office. Everyone is welcome to join this ride.

Cyclists are encouraged to dress in blue. Parents or guardians must accompany primary school cyclists.

The aim of Seeff’s management team with this ride is to create awareness about orphans. The evening is part of their initiative – the Epic for Orphans Campaign.

This initiative started when the owners of Seeff, Billy and Anne-Lize Fick, crossed paths with two cyclists, Renier Louwrens, also a Survivor contestant, and Maree Verhoef.

Louwrens and Verhoef participated in the 2024 Absa Cape Epic with only five weeks‘ notice. For both, it was a dream come true. They took 250 people, via social media, with them on their Cape Epic adventure.

“For many following their adventure, it turned into more than just an event; it became a daily inspiration,” said Fick.

The two cyclists joined Seeff and the community and now want to raise money for Cosmos Haven Kriel, a safe house for children.

With the money, they will upgrade the facilities at the safe house. This night ride is the first in a series of events. A bigger event will take place in October.
