Siyabonga Xowana wins 21km Leandra Half Marathon

Siyabonga Xowana and Angela Bwalya claim victory in the men’s and women’s 21km races.

Siyabonga Xowana won the 21km Leandra Half- Marathon hosted by the Leandra Athletics Club on September 6. The race started at the Osizweni Special School, and Xowana finished in 1:07:23.

Never Mahlangu came second in 1:11:22, with Mpho Mokoena third in 1:11:51. In the women’s 21km race, Angela Bwalya crossed the finish line first in 1:53:11, followed by Zelmarie van der Merwe in 1:54:39 and Sibongile Hlophe in 1:58:56.

In the 10km race, Tshiamo Lephoto was the first man home in 30:51, ahead of Lucas Jani in 32:13 and Lebo Makhalemele in 33:05. Maria Masuku led the women’s 10km in 54:21, with Polite Makoni second in 56:24, and Joeline Venter third in 58:10.
