Sasol Secunda Bowls Club men are Mpumalanga champions

Theym beat Nelspruit Bowling Club 21-19.

Sasol Secunda Bowls Club men competed in the Mpumalanga Trips held at Ermelo Bowling Club from September 13 to 14. The Mpumalanga Trips consisted of eight teams: the top four from Mpumalanga West and the top four from Mpumalanga Lowveld.

After winning their section, Sasol Secunda Bowling Club men secured a place in the final, held on September 14. They faced a team from Nelspruit Bowling Club.

The Sasol Secunda team found themselves trailing 18-7 on the scoreboard. With only four ends left to play, the Sasol Secunda team managed to score 14 points in the last four ends, winning the game in an epic battle, with a score of 21-19.

Team captain Lanie Nel applauded his team on the win.

“Our journey to becoming Mpumalanga champions was achieved by going 10 games unbeaten. Teamwork is everything. Three is one and one is none,” said Nel.
