Dancers from Secunda compete in two competitions

Lisa Carrington wins most categories.

Dancers competed in the Schools South African Solo Dance competition held at Highveld Park High School on October 18 and the Studio International Solo Dance Sport competition on October 19.

The winners of the Schools South African Solo Dance competition in their different categories and age groups are: Lisa Carrington (ballroom leaders, Latin, street hip-hop, performing arts, mixed Latin and mixed street), Melandie Faber (ballroom followers), Jayden Agnew (ballroom leaders, mixed performing arts and mixed Latin), Nina Prinsloo (ballroom followers, performing arts, rhythm and movement and Latin), Iva Stopforth (Latin, performing arts and rhythm and movement), Snempendulo Dhuldhlu (performing arts, rhythm and movement and street hip-hop), Orifha Ramulifho (street hip-hop), Noelani Swanepoel (mixed Latin), Sne Dhuldhlu (Latin), Nokhanya Manyoni (Latin and mixed street), Handré Carsten (mixed performing arts), Morgan Phillips (performing arts), Katleho Motloung (street hip-hop), Dhia Singh (street and rhythm and movement), Lerato Mavuso (street hip-hop), Karabo Sello (mixed rhythm and movement), Tamara Mynhardt (mixed rhythm and movement) and Olivia Markham (rhythm and movement).

In the Studio International Solo Dance Sport competition, it was once again Lisa Carrington who won the most categories. She achieved first places in the Junior Star Classic, Junior Champ Classic, Junior Star Latin, Junior Rising Star Latin, Junior Champ Latin, Junior Star Energy Dance, Junior Rising Star Energy Dance, Junior Champ Energy Dance and Junior Rising Star Classic categories.

The other dancers who performed and won their categories are Iva Stopforth (Juvenile Champ Classic), Dhia Singh (Youth Star Classic), Illezy Spies (Youth Rising Star Classic, Youth Rising Star Latin and Youth Champ Classic), Febe Gartner (Super League Classic, Super League Latin and Super League Energy Dance), Sne Dhludhlu (Juvenile Champ Latin, Juvenile Rising Star Energy Dance and Juvenile Champ Energy Dance), Corné Olivier (Youth Star Latin), Tenei Stander (Youth Champ Latin), Nokhanya Manyoni (Youth Star Energy Dance and Youth Rising Star Energy Dance) and Nina Prinsloo (Youth Champ Energy Dance).
