A couple were arrested in Secunda on November 26, in connection with a case of beastiality.

Mpumalana police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Nonyane, said the two were released yesterday, November 28; however, the case is still under investigation.

Jacques Peacock of the National Council of SPCAs’ communications unit, said in a media statement that the NSPCA confirms the arrest of the individuals following allegations of beastiality.

NSPCA inspectors reported to two separate properties linked to the suspects to secure the scene and collect evidence.

“As this is an active criminal investigation, the welfare of any animals found and the integrity of the evidence remain our foremost priorities. Further information will be provided as the case progresses,” said Peacock.
